Bio: I grew up going to church my whole life, but it wasn’t until college that I was drawn into a personal relationship with Christ. You would think that I would then begin to experience the “abundant life”, but nothing could be farther from the truth. I began to work very hard to please God and gain His acceptance. I didn’t realize that so much more had happened at my salvation. For twenty-plus years I tried to be a good Christian, only to end up burned out, unfulfilled, and believing I had let God down. In the words of Watchman Nee, I was striving to “enter a room I was already in”. Over the years, I have begun to better understand God’s grace and live in the love and acceptance that He offers.
Nothing brings me greater joy than to help people realize who they are in Christ. We are designed by our Creator to have our need for love, acceptance, worth and security met in Him alone. Unfortunately, we tend to look everywhere else like work, money, spouse, and titles. As we look for our identity in these and other sources, we develop beliefs about ourselves that are not true. Through the counseling at Grace Summit, God uncovers those false belief systems, and begins to heal them. It is a blessing and honor to come along side God’s hurting children and watch Him reveal their true identity. I can truly say that I am doing exactly what I want, and am called, to do.
